Lawsuit Investigation
Attorneys working with ClassAction.org are looking into whether a class action lawsuit can be filed in light of the Western Electrical Contractors Association data breach.
As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who received a notice stating they were impacted.
Western Electrical Contractors Association, Inc. (WECA), a nonprofit supporting contractors, employees and suppliers in the electrical industry, recently discovered a data breach that potentially compromised the privacy of personal information for certain individuals. Suspicious activity was detected on the organization's computer systems earlier this year, and an investigation revealed that an unauthorized actor accessed and possibly copied files from WECA's network between January 21 and January 22, 2024.
The types of affected information vary by individual but may include names, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, financial account information, payment card information, medical information, and health insurance details.
Individuals affected by the Western Electrical Contractors Association data breach are now receiving notice of the incident.
