Highlands Oncology Security Incident: What Happened?
Highlands Oncology Group PA recently reported a data breach affecting certain individuals' personal information. On June 2, 2025, Highlands Oncology discovered a cyberattack had rendered some files and systems inaccessible. An investigation was then launched into the Highlands Oncology Group data breach, which reportedly affects 113,575 individuals.
The investigation revealed that an unauthorized entity accessed Highlands Oncology's network between January 21 and June 2, 2025, encrypting some files and potentially acquiring sensitive data. The Medusa ransomware gang has reportedly claimed responsibility for the attack.
The compromised information may include names, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, driver's license/state ID numbers, passport numbers, financial details, medical treatment information, and health insurance data. On August 1, 2025, Highlands Oncology began notifying affected individuals by mail where possible.
Highlands Oncology Group specializes in radiation therapy and chemotherapy, with locations in Rogers, Fayetteville, Springdale, and Mountain Home, Arkansas.
