Luminis Health Cyberattack: Lawsuit Investigation
Attorneys working with ClassAction.org are looking into whether a class action lawsuit can be filed in light of the reports of a Luminis Health cyberattack.
As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who are concerned their information may have been put at risk, including current and former Luminis Health staff, providers and patients.
Luminis Health Security Incident: What Happened?
Luminis Health, a healthcare system in Maryland, is actively addressing a cybersecurity incident impacting various systems within its organization.
According to a September 1, 2026 notice posted to its website, Luminis Health has launched an investigation with third-party cybersecurity experts into an incident that disrupted certain systems and operations. The healthcare group advised that patients with scheduled appointments should contact Luminis for confirmation and additional information.
Per DysruptionHub, a cybersecurity news site, patient communication portals, including MyChart and CareConnectNow, remained unavailable as of September 3, and Luminis had yet to provide a restoration timeline.
The investigation is still ongoing, and it remains unclear whether patient information was affected. Luminis has announced that it will notify individuals should the investigation reveal that any data was compromised.
What You Can Do
If you're affiliated with Luminis Health and are concerned your information could have been put at risk, attorneys want to hear from you. You may be able to start a class action lawsuit to recover compensation for loss of privacy, lost time, out-of-pocket costs, and more.
A successful case could also force Luminis Health to ensure they take proper steps to protect the information they were entrusted with.
