According to a September 5, 2026 post on dark web security site Ransomware.live, hacker group Dire Wolf was behind the suspected attack on the animal care organization, which was estimated to have occurred on the same day the post was made.
HookPhish, another dark web blog, similarly reported that Dire Wolf claimed to be responsible for an attack on Mission Pet Health.
At the time this post was made, no additional information was available about the scope or nature of the unconfirmed Mission Pet Health data breach.
