Amazon Data Breach:
Lawsuit Investigation
Attorneys working with ClassAction.org are looking into whether a class action lawsuit can be filed in light reports that Amazon may have leaked employees' personal information.
On November 11, 2024, BleepingComputer.com reported that a threat actor who goes by Nam3L3ss posted more than 2.8 million lines of Amazon employee data on a hacking forum. The data exposed in the Amazon data breach reportedly includes names, contact information, building locations, email addresses and more.
An Amazon spokesperson confirmed the breach, telling BleepingComputer that the data was stolen from a third-party service provider and involved "employee work contact information, for example work email addresses, desk phone numbers, and building locations."
According to BleepingComputer, the Amazon data may have been stolen during the May 2023 MOVEit data breach, when a Russian cybergang exploited a vulnerability in the MOVEit file transfer software and obtained data on an estimated 94 million people associated with thousands of organizations and businesses.
If you believe your information may have been exposed in the breach, attorneys want to hear from you. You may be able to start a class action lawsuit to recover compensation for loss of privacy, time spent dealing with the breach, out-of-pocket costs, and more.
A successful case could also force Amazon to ensure it takes proper steps to protect the information it was entrusted with.
