Alabama Cardiovascular Group Data Breach:
Lawsuit Investigation
Attorneys working with ClassAction.org are looking into whether a class action lawsuit can be filed in light of the Alabama Cardiovascular Group data breach.
As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who received a notice stating they were impacted.
Alabama Cardiovascular Group (ACG) has reported to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services that a data breach may have exposed the private information of 280,534 current and former patients, guarantors, employees and physicians.
On July 2, 2024, ACG discovered unauthorized access to its computer network. The company says in its online notice of the incident that it disconnected its network from the internet and terminated the unauthorized access.
An investigation revealed that unauthorized parties accessed the network and obtained personal information between June 6 and July 2, 2024. The accessed information varies by individual but may include names, addresses, emails, phone numbers, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, health insurance information and claims data, usernames, passwords, medical and treatment information, driver's license or passport numbers, credit or debit card details and bank account information. The company plans to send letters to those affected by the Alabama Cardiovascular Group data breach.
If your information was exposed in the breach, attorneys want to hear from you. You may be able to start a class action lawsuit to recover compensation for loss of privacy, time spent dealing with the breach, out-of-pocket costs, and more.
A successful case could also force Alabama Cardiovascular Group to ensure it takes proper steps to protect the information it was entrusted with.
