Did You Use DailyPay, Brigit, Dave or EarnIn?

From there, attorneys are continuing to concern themselves with data privacy for California residents. Plus, two new lawsuits are taking issue with added fees on a popular freelance labor platform and heavy metals in whole grain rice, respectively.

CA Residents: Harrys.com or ApartmentGuide.com User?

Two new websites are under investigation for potential violations of the California Invasion of Privacy Act, specifically as it relates to the use of tracking technology to collect and share customer data. So, if you browsed ApartmentGuide.com or Harrys.com in the past year, learn more and sign up if you’re affected. CA, NY Residents: Bought a Hisense QLED TV?

Attorneys have reason to believe that certain Hisense QLED TVs may not be as high-quality as advertised. Specifically, they suspect that the TVs may not actually use quantum dot technology, which provides a better and brighter range of colors than standard LCD TVs, and therefore may have been overpriced. If you bought a Hisense QLED in the past two years in California or New York, check out this page for more information on the products in question

TaskRabbit Hit with Lawsuit Over “Junk” Fees

A proposed class action claims that TaskRabbit has misrepresented the freelance service rates advertised on its platform by hiding arbitrary “junk” fees from consumers until checkout. Specifically, the suit alleges TaskRabbit “lures” users by listing flat hourly rates only to later tack on a “Trust and Support” fee that adds no additional value. Read more.

Lawsuit Filed over Mahatma Rice Heavy Metal Content

Riviana Foods is facing a proposed class action claiming that it has failed to warn consumers that its Mahatma Brown Whole Grain Rice contains arsenic and cadmium. The case contests that any reasonable consumer who had been made aware of the alleged presence of heavy metals in the rice would not have purchased the product or would have paid less for it.
