| ~ In Other News ~ A proposed class action claims that TaskRabbit has misrepresented the freelance service rates advertised on its platform by hiding arbitrary “junk” fees from consumers until checkout. Specifically, the suit alleges TaskRabbit “lures” users by listing flat hourly rates only to later tack on a “Trust and Support” fee that adds no additional value. Read more. | Riviana Foods is facing a proposed class action claiming that it has failed to warn consumers that its Mahatma Brown Whole Grain Rice contains arsenic and cadmium. The case contests that any reasonable consumer who had been made aware of the alleged presence of heavy metals in the rice would not have purchased the product or would have paid less for it.
