Anixter Center Class Action Settlement Wraps Up Lawsuit Over 2023 Data Breach

A Lester and Rosalie Anixter Center settlement offers cash and credit monitoring to individuals who received notice of a July 2023 data breach.
The Lester and Rosalie Anixter Center has agreed to a settlement to wrap up a class action lawsuit that alleged the nonprofit failed to safeguard sensitive information from a July 2023 data breach.

The Lester and Rosalie Anixter Center class action settlement received preliminary approval from the court on June 18, 2026. All individuals in the United States who were sent a notice of the Anixter Center data breach are eligible to participate in the settlement.
Court documents state that roughly 6,238 people were notified about the Anixter data incident.

Anixter Center settlement class members who file a timely, valid claim form can receive up to $5,000 for documented out-of-pocket losses incurred between July 17, 2023 and October 19, 2026 because of the data breach. This benefit covers losses from identity theft or fraud and costs for credit reports, credit monitoring, freezing or unfreezing credit, replacement IDs, postage, and more.
Class members must submit proof, such as bank statements or receipts, to receive a documented-loss payment.
Class members can also submit a claim form for reimbursement of up to three hours of lost time spent responding to the data breach, at a rate of $17.50 per hour. This benefit covers activities such as changing passwords, investigating suspicious account activity, and researching the data breach.
In lieu of any other cash payment, class members can submit a claim for a $50 cash payout, with no proof required.
Finally, all class members can elect on their claim form to receive one year of CyEx Identity Defense Complete, which includes credit monitoring, identity theft insurance, dark web scanning, and access to fraud resolution agents.
To submit an Anixter Center settlement claim form online, class members can head to this page and enter the login ID and PIN found on their copy of the settlement notice. Alternatively, class members can download a PDF claim form to print, complete, and return by mail to the settlement administrator.
All Lester and Rosalie Anixter Center settlement claim forms must be submitted online or postmarked by October 19, 2026.
The court will determine whether to grant final approval to the Anixter Center settlement following a hearing on November 23, 2026. Compensation will begin to be distributed to class members only after final approval has been granted and any appeals have been resolved.
The Lester and Rosalie Anixter Center class action lawsuit alleged that the Chicago-based nonprofit social services provider failed to implement reasonable cybersecurity measures to protect confidential information from a July 2023 data breach.
