$2.39M+ Bradford-Scott Data Settlement Ends Class Action Lawsuit Over Cyber Incident

Bradford-Scott Data has agreed to a more than $2.39 million settlement to resolve a class action lawsuit that alleged the tech platform provider failed to protect private information from a July 2023 data breach.

The $2,393,888.25 Bradford-Scott Data class action settlement received preliminary approval from the court on June 9, 2026. The deal covers all individuals who were affected by the data breach, including all who were sent a notice letter by Bradford-Scott Data concerning the incident discovered on or around July 2, 2023.

Court documents state that approximately 245,527 people may have been impacted by the data breach.

Bradford-Scott Data settlement class members who submit a timely, valid claim form can receive up to $5,000 for documented out-of-pocket losses incurred between July 2, 2023 and October 7, 2026 due to the data breach. This benefit covers losses from identity theft or fraud and costs for credit reports, credit monitoring, freezing or unfreezing credit, replacement IDs, postage, and more.

Class members must submit proof, such as receipts or bank statements, to receive a documented-loss payment.

Additionally, class members can file a claim form to receive an estimated $100 pro rata cash payment, with no proof required.

The final amount of each class member’s cash payout may increase or decrease, depending on the total number of valid claims filed, among other factors.

Finally, all class members can elect on their claim form to receive three years of CyEx Financial Shield Complete, which includes financial fraud insurance and access to fraud resolution agents.

To submit a Bradford-Scott Data settlement claim form online, class members can head to this page and enter the login ID and PIN found on their copy of the settlement notice. Alternatively, class members can download a PDF claim form to print, complete, and return by mail to the settlement administrator.

All Bradford-Scott Data claim forms must be submitted online or postmarked by October 7, 2026.

The court will determine whether to grant final approval to the Bradford-Scott Data settlement following a hearing on October 15, 2026. Compensation will begin to be distributed to class members only after final approval has been granted and any appeals have been resolved.

The Bradford-Scott Data class action lawsuit alleged that the technology company, which provides software services to credit unions, failed to implement reasonable cybersecurity measures to protect private information from a data breach on or around July 2, 2023.

Court documents state that private information that may have been compromised in the breach included Social Security numbers, dates of birth, financial account information, credit card numbers, and/or debit card numbers.
