Watsonville Community Hospital Security Incident: What Happened?
Watsonville Community Hospital, which serves California’s Pajaro Valley and Central Coast regions, is providing notice to individuals impacted by a data security incident involving personal and health information.
After detecting suspicious activity in its computer network on November 29, 2024, the hospital, which is based in Watsonville, California, took parts of its system offline and opened an investigation. The inquiry found that an unknown party had gained access to a limited portion of the network between November 25 and November 30, 2024 and accessed or downloaded certain files without authorization.
