Pathstone Data Breach?: Lawsuit Investigation
Attorneys working with ClassAction.org are looking into whether a class action lawsuit can be filed in light of a potential Pathstone data breach.
As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who may have had their information exposed in the incident, including clients of the company.
Pathstone Security Incident: What Happened?
Pathstone Family Office is facing a potential data breach by the hacking group ShinyHunters, which, according to Cybernews, claims to have stolen 641,000 records. These records reportedly include personally identifiable information and internal corporate documents. The group gave Pathstone until March 2, 2026 to act before the data was to be released publicly.
ShinyHunters has reportedly issued similar threats in the past and recently exposed data from Mercer Advisors.
Pathstone, which operates at least 22 offices nationwide and manages over $170 billion in assets, is the latest high-value financial advisory firm targeted by ShinyHunters in a series of cyberattacks, joining Beacon Pointe Advisors, Cybernews reported. The company offers an advisory platform for individuals, families, family offices and institutions.
What You Can Do After the Potential Pathstone Data Breach
If your information was exposed in the reported Pathstone data breach, attorneys want to hear from you. You may be able to start a class action lawsuit to recover compensation for loss of privacy, time spent dealing with the breach, out-of-pocket costs, and more.
