As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who received a notice stating they were impacted.
Compassion Health Care Security Incident: What Happened?
Compassion Health Care, Inc. has announced a data breach involving unauthorized access to data on its systems, affecting patient and employee/vendor information. The incident was first detected on March 17, 2025, when suspicious activity led to a network interruption. Compassion Health Care engaged a third-party cybersecurity firm to investigate the scope of the data breach.
By March 21, 2025, it was confirmed that unauthorized parties may have viewed or downloaded sensitive data. Affected patient information includes names, addresses, phone numbers, birthdates/ages, Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, health insurance details, and clinical information. For employees and vendors, potentially compromised data includes names, addresses, birthdates, Social Security numbers, income details, and financial account information.
On May 16, 2025, notices were sent to those who were affected by the Compassion Health Care data breach and for whom the North Carolina medical provider has contact information.
Compassion Health Care provides primary care, urgent care, and behavioral health services and operates Caswell Family Medical Center and James Austin Health Center in Yanceyville and Eden, North Carolina, respectively.
