The Compassion Health class action settlement received preliminary approval from the court on November 17, 2025 and covers all living individuals in the United States whose data may have been compromised in the data breach detected in March 2025. Per court documents, the private information of up to 23,600 individuals may have been implicated in the data breach.
The court-approved website for the Compassion Health settlement can be found at CHCDataSettlement.com.
According to the website, Compassion Health settlement class members who submit a timely, valid claim form have multiple options for reimbursement. Class members who submit a claim form with documented proof of out-of-pocket losses are eligible to receive a one-time cash payment of up to $5,000, referred to as “Cash Payment A” in all court documents.
As part of Cash Payment A, the settlement agreement outlines that Compassion Health class members may also elect to receive reimbursement for up to four hours of lost time spent responding to the breach, at a rate of $25 per hour, which will be included in the $5,000 cap for documented losses.
In lieu of a documented-loss payment, class members may instead file a claim form for a one-time alternative cash payment of approximately $40, referred to as “Cash Payment B” in all court documents. The final amount of each class member’s payout may become pro-rated depending on the total number of valid claims filed, the settlement agreement reports.
Finally, in addition to any monetary benefits, all Compassion Health settlement class members may submit a claim form to enroll in two free years of CyEx Medical Shield Complete, which includes one-bureau credit monitoring, real-time alerts and victim assistance.
To submit a Compassion Health settlement claim form online, class members can visit this page and enter the unique CPT ID and passcode as found on their copy of the settlement notice. Alternatively, class members can download a PDF copy of the claim form to print, fill out, and return by mail to the settlement administrator.
All Compassion Health settlement claim forms must be submitted online or postmarked no later than February 23, 2026.
The court will determine whether to grant the Compassion Health settlement final approval at a hearing on March 9, 2026. Compensation will begin to be distributed to class members only after final approval has been granted and any appeals have been resolved.
The Compassion Health class action lawsuit alleged that the North Carolina-based healthcare provider failed to implement proper cybersecurity measures to secure its systems, which led to a data breach discovered by the company on or around March 17, 2025. Per court documents, the sensitive information potentially impacted as a result of the breach included names, addresses, dates of birth, phone numbers, Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, health insurance details, and clinical information.
