American National Bank & Trust Security Incident: What Happened?
Texas financial institution American National Bank & Trust recently experienced a data breach that compromised sensitive information. The company discovered the unauthorized network access on January 22, 2025 and took measures to secure its systems, initiating an investigation with a cybersecurity firm.
The probe revealed that the American National Bank & Trust data breach occurred between January 21 and 22, 2025, and by April 28, it was confirmed that personal data was accessed.
A report provided to the Texas Attorney General indicates that names; addresses; birth dates; Social Security numbers; driver's license and government-issued ID numbers; and financial, medical, and health insurance information were affected. The bank is notifying affected individuals via letter.
American National Bank & Trust has branches in Archer City, Chillicothe, Denton, Wichita Falls, Flower Mound, Fort Worth, Iowa Park, Roanoke and Quanah, Texas.
