Tufts Medicine Security Incident: What Happened?
On August 26, 2025, Massachusetts-based Tufts Medicine, Inc. reported a data breach to the state's Office of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation. While little information is available on the Tufts Medicine data breach, the health system reported that the potentially exposed data includes Social Security numbers, financial account information and driver's licenses.
Tufts Medicine, which is comprised of Care at Home, Lowell General Hospital, MelroseWakefield Hospital, Tufts Medical Center and hundreds of doctors' offices, is likely now sending notices of the data breach.
