Ocuco Security Incident: What Happened?
On May 30, 2025, eyecare software technology company Ocuco Inc. reported a data breach to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) that affected 240,961 people.
Although not much information is known about the Ocuco data breach, companies are required to notify the HHS Secretary when they discover a breach of protected health information.
An April 5, 2025 report from cybersecurity company HookPhish indicates that Ocuco may have fallen victim to a ransomware attack orchestrated by threat group killsec on April 1.
Ocuco Inc., based in Dublin, Ireland, provides software and services to thousands of optical retailers, eye hospitals and optical labs across 77 countries.
