Heights Finance Security Incident: What Happened?
Heights Finance, which provides personal loans and insurance products, has reported a data breach affecting sensitive personal information.
On August 11, 2026, Heights Finance posted a data breach notice on its website stating that an unauthorized actor had gained access to a third-party cloud-based platform used to store customer data. The incident was discovered by the company on May 7, 2026.
An investigation with the help of cybersecurity experts determined that the unauthorized actor may have viewed or copied sensitive information, including contact details, bank account and financial information, Social Security numbers, tax IDs, driver’s licenses, state ID numbers, dates of birth and other personal data.
Individuals affected could include those who received, inquired about or applied for a loan product from Heights Finance or were former borrowers of Curo Management.
