According to an August 29, 2026 post on dark web security site Ransomware.live, hacker group ShinyHunters was behind the suspected attack, which was estimated to have occurred on the same day.
HookPhish, another cybersecurity blog, similarly stated that ShinyHunters claimed to be responsible for an attack on the food and animal safety company.
At the time this post was made, no additional information was available about the scope or nature of the unconfirmed Neogen data breach.
