EngageMED Data Breach:
Lawsuit Investigation
Attorneys working with ClassAction.org are looking into whether a class action lawsuit can be filed in light of the EngageMED data breach.
As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who received a notice stating they were impacted.
EngageMED, a healthcare management organization serving clients in Arkansas and California, detected suspicious network activity affecting certain systems around July 3, 2024. An investigation revealed that an unknown actor accessed certain EngageMED systems between June 12 and July 3 of this year, acquiring patient data.
A notice on the company’s website indicates that the information compromised in the EngageMED data breach may include individuals’ names, addresses, birth dates, Social Security numbers, service dates, patient ID numbers, procedure codes and costs, provider information, diagnoses, government-issued identification, health insurance information, claim information, and details related to the payment of healthcare services.
If your information was exposed in the breach, attorneys want to hear from you. You may be able to start a class action lawsuit to recover compensation for loss of privacy, time spent dealing with the breach, out-of-pocket costs, and more.
A successful case could also force EngageMED to ensure it takes proper steps to protect the information it was entrusted with.
