Covaris Data Breach:
Lawsuit Investigation
Attorneys working with ClassAction.org are looking into whether a class action lawsuit can be filed in light of the Covaris data breach.
As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who received a notice stating they were impacted.
In a recent cybersecurity incident, Covaris, LLC, a company specializing in sample preparation technologies for life sciences, discovered unusual activity in its computer systems in February 2024. The breach first began on February 26, an investigation revealed.
Subsequent investigations revealed that the unauthorized actor potentially accessed specific sensitive information during the Covaris data breach, including names paired with Social Security numbers, driver's license numbers, dates of birth, financial account details, health information, and usernames with passwords.
Covaris asserted that the breach did not extend to the systems of its parent company, PerkinElmer U.S. LLC.
If your information was exposed in the breach, attorneys want to hear from you. You may be able to start a class action lawsuit to recover compensation for loss of privacy, time spent dealing with the breach, out-of-pocket costs, and more.
A successful case could also force Covaris to ensure it takes proper steps to protect the information it was entrusted with.
