Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences Security Incident: What Happened?
Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (ACPHS), a private institution in New York offering undergraduate, graduate, and PharmD programs, has reported a data security incident involving unauthorized system access. The ACPHS data breach was detected on or around September 14, 2024, and the college responded by securing its systems and launching an investigation with external cybersecurity experts.
An investigation revealed that between August 31 and September 14, 2024, data might have been accessed and acquired. Confirmed on May 30, 2025, the compromised information varied by individual and could include names combined with details like birth dates, Social Security numbers, financial data, government ID numbers, health insurance information, medical information, marriage and birth certificates, biometric information, student data and more.
ACPHS began notifying affected individuals on June 16, 2025, provided valid mailing addresses were available, according to a data breach notice on its site that was updated several days prior.
