Mount Sinai Medical Center of Florida Settlement Resolves Class Action Over Patient Portal Tracking Pixels

Mount Sinai Medical Center of Florida has agreed to a settlement to resolve a class action lawsuit that alleged the not-for-profit teaching hospital covertly embedded tracking pixels on its website that transmitted visitors’ private health information to third parties without consent.

The Mount Sinai Medical Center class action settlement received preliminary approval from the court on June 12, 2026. The deal covers all living individuals who accessed Mount Sinai’s website or patient portal between June 10, 2021 and September 18, 2025.

The court-approved website for the Mount Sinai Medical Center of Florida class action settlement can be found at MountSinaiDataSettlement.com.

Mount Sinai settlement class members who submit a timely, valid claim form can receive an estimated $20 cash payment, with no proof required.

The final amount of each class member’s cash payout may increase or decrease on a pro rata basis, depending on the total number of valid claims filed, among other factors. Cash payouts will not exceed $250 per class member.

To submit a Mount Sinai Medical Center settlement claim form online, class members can head to this page and enter the unique ID and PIN found on their copy of the settlement notice. Alternatively, class members can download a PDF claim form to print, fill out, and return by mail to the settlement administrator.

All Mount Sinai Medical Center of Florida settlement claim forms must be submitted online or postmarked by September 28, 2026.

Additionally, all class members received an activation code on their settlement notice for one year of CyEx Medical Data Monitoring. The service can be activated, without submitting a claim form, upon final approval of the settlement.

The court will determine whether to grant final approval to the Mount Sinai Medical Center settlement following a hearing on October 13, 2026. Compensation will begin to be distributed to class members only after final approval has been granted and any appeals have been resolved.

The Mount Sinai Medical Center class action lawsuit alleged that the Miami Beach teaching hospital transmitted private health information and/or confidential communications to third parties by way of embedded third-party tracking pixels and analytics technologies on its website and patient portal, without users’ consent, in violation of Florida’s Security of Communications Act.
