Jack’s Family Restaurants Settlement Ends Data Breach Lawsuit Over 2025 Cybersecurity Incident

Jack’s Family Restaurants, LP has agreed to a class action settlement to resolve a lawsuit that alleged the Southeastern fast food chain failed to safeguard current and former employees’ sensitive information from a 2025 data breach.

The Jack’s Family Restaurants class action settlement received preliminary approval from the court on July 27, 2026. Eligible for the settlement are all United States residents whose private information was compromised by the data incident, including all who were sent notice of the Jack’s data breach.

Jack’s Family Restaurants settlement class members who file a timely, valid claim form can receive up to $4,000 for documented out-of-pocket losses incurred due to the data breach. This benefit covers unreimbursed costs for credit reports, credit monitoring or identity theft protection, replacement IDs, bank or credit card charges, and more.

Class members must submit proof, such as receipts, to receive a documented-loss payout.

In addition, class members can submit a claim form to receive reimbursement for up to four hours of lost time spent responding to the data breach, at a rate of $20 per hour.

In lieu of any other cash benefits, class members can instead file a claim form to receive a $55 cash payment, with no proof required.

Lastly, all class members can elect on their claim form to receive three years of one-bureau credit monitoring, which includes dark web scanning, public records monitoring, identity theft insurance, and more.

To file a Jack’s Family Restaurants settlement claim form online, class members can head to this page and enter the login ID and PIN found on their copy of the settlement notice. Alternatively, class members can download a PDF claim form to print, complete and return by mail to the settlement administrator.

All Jack’s Family Restaurants settlement claim forms must be submitted online or postmarked by November 30, 2026.

The court will determine whether to grant final approval to the Jack’s Family Restaurants settlement following a hearing on December 15, 2026. Settlement benefits will begin to be distributed to class members only after final approval has been granted and any appeals have been resolved.

The Jack’s Family Restaurants class action lawsuit alleged that the restaurant chain, which specializes in Southern-inspired comfort food, failed to implement adequate cybersecurity measures to protect current and former employees’ confidential information from a targeted cyberattack that occurred between July 24 and August 10, 2025.

Court documents state that files that may have been accessed during the cyberattack included names, Social Security numbers, dates of birth, addresses, phone numbers and bank account information.
