Bayhealth MyChart Settlement Ends Class Action Lawsuit Over Alleged Disclosure of Patient Data

Bayhealth Medical Center has agreed to a class action settlement to wrap up a lawsuit that alleged the healthcare system unlawfully deployed tracking pixels on its website and MyChart patient portal that transmitted patients’ private information to third parties without their consent.

The Bayhealth MyChart class action settlement received preliminary approval from the court on June 5, 2026. The deal covers all Bayhealth patient portal users who used certain Bayhealth web properties between January 1, 2019 and December 31, 2025.

The Bayhealth web properties covered by the deal include webpages located at the domain www.Bayhealth.org, with a website “button” linking website users to the Bayhealth MyChart patient portal’s login webpage, and the Bayhealth MyChart patient portal itself.

The court-approved website for the Bayhealth MyChart class action settlement can be found at BayhealthPixelSettlement.com.

Bayhealth settlement class members who submit a timely, valid claim form can receive a $25 cash payment, with no proof required.

Additionally, all class members can elect on their claim form to receive one year of CyEx Privacy Shield, which includes dark web scanning, online privacy tools, and access to fraud resolution agents.

To submit a Bayhealth settlement claim form online, class members can head to this page and enter the login ID and PIN found on their copy of the settlement notice. Alternatively, class members can download a PDF claim form to print, complete, and return by mail to the settlement administrator.

All Bayhealth settlement claim forms must be submitted online or postmarked by October 5, 2026.

The court will determine whether to grant final approval to the Bayhealth settlement following a hearing on October 29, 2026. Compensation will begin to be distributed to class members only after final approval has been granted and any appeals have been resolved.

The Bayhealth class action lawsuit alleged that the healthcare provider installed third-party tracking tools on its websites and MyChart patient portal that transmitted patients’ private health information to third parties without consent.
