Southern Illinois Healthcare has agreed to a class action settlement to resolve a lawsuit that alleged the healthcare provider installed tracking pixels in its MyChart patient portal that surreptitiously transmitted patients’ personal health information to third parties.

The Southern Illinois Healthcare class action settlement received preliminary approval from the court on March 16, 2026. The deal covers all United States residents who signed into Southern Illinois Healthcare’s MyChart patient portal, or scheduled appointments through the healthcare provider’s MyChart patient portal or website open scheduling, from February 21, 2022 to February 28, 2023, or June 12, 2023 to July 6, 2023, or who completed a health risk assessment from November 2, 2020 to January 31, 2021, or February 1, 2021 to April 30, 2021.
Court documents indicate that roughly 79,215 people are covered by the Southern Illinois Healthcare (SIH) class action settlement.
The court-approved website for the SIH class action settlement can be found at SouthernIllinoisHealthPixelSettlement.com.
According to the site, Southern Illinois Healthcare class members who submit a timely, valid claim form can receive a $17.50 cash payment. No proof is required to claim this benefit.
Additionally, all class members will automatically receive on their copy of the settlement notice an enrollment code for one year of CyEx Privacy Shield Pro, which includes dark web scanning and more.
To submit a Southern Illinois Healthcare settlement claim form online, class members can head to this page and enter the unique ID and PIN found on their copy of the settlement notice. Alternatively, class members can download a PDF claim form to print, complete and return by mail to the settlement administrator.
All Southern Illinois Healthcare settlement claim forms must be submitted online or postmarked no later than June 15, 2026.
The court will determine whether to grant the SIH settlement final approval following a hearing on August 24, 2026. Compensation will begin to be distributed to class members only after final approval has been granted and any appeals have been resolved.
The Southern Illinois Healthcare class action lawsuit alleged that the healthcare provider unlawfully used third-party tracking pixels in its MyChart patient portal that covertly transmitted sensitive consumer health information to unauthorized third parties, such as Meta, for the purpose of targeted advertising.
