Northwest Retirement Plan Consultants (NWRPC) has agreed to a $1,200,000 settlement to resolve a class action lawsuit that alleged the retirement solutions company failed to protect sensitive consumer information stored on its systems from a targeted cyberattack in August 2024.

The $1.2 million NWRPC class action settlement received preliminary approval from the court on January 23, 2026 and covers approximately 68,500 living individuals as identified on the class list whose private information was determined by NWRPC’s data review to have been potentially impacted in the August 2024 data breach.
The court-approved website for the NWRPC data breach settlement can be found at DataSettlementNWRPC.com.
According to the website, NWRPC settlement class members who file a valid, timely claim form are eligible for multiple forms of reimbursement.
All class members who submit with their claim form proof of documented losses stemming from the data breach are eligible to receive a one-time cash payment of up to $3,000, also referred to as “Cash Payment A” in settlement documents.
The settlement agreement outlines that class members must submit documentation, such as receipts and invoices, to receive reimbursement for out-of-pocket losses related to fraud, identity theft, credit reports, credit monitoring, freezing credit, costs to replace identification, and postage; class members may not receive compensation for losses that have already been reimbursed by another source.
In lieu of a documented-loss payment, NWRPC class members may file a claim to receive a one-time alternate cash payment of $50, also referred to as “Cash Payment B.”
Class members may receive their settlement payments via check or electronic payment, the agreement notes, and all checks must be cashed within 180 days of issuance before expiration.
Furthermore, the settlement agreement outlines that all cash payments may be subject to a pro-rated reduction if the cost of attorneys’ fees, settlement administration costs, lead plaintiff service awards and all other settlement benefits exceed $1,200,000.
In addition to any monetary benefits, all NWRPC settlement class members may file a claim to receive an enrollment code for three free years of credit data monitoring with one credit bureau.
To file a NWRPC settlement claim form online, class members can head to this page and log in using the unique ID and PIN found on their received copy of the settlement notice. Alternatively, class members may download a PDF of the claim form from the website to print, fill out and return by mail to the address of the settlement administrator listed on the second page of the document.
All NWRPC data breach claim forms must be submitted online or by mail by April 24, 2026.
The court will determine whether to grant final approval to the NWRPC data breach settlement following a hearing on June 12, 2026. Compensation will begin to be distributed to class members only after final approval has been granted and any appeals are resolved.
The NWRPC class action lawsuit claimed that the retirement plans administrator, which offers retirement solutions to businesses, failed to implement cybersecurity measures to protect the sensitive information of its clients’ employees from a targeted cyberattack on August 31, 2024. Per court documents, private information that may have been compromised by the data breach includes names, dates of birth and Social Security numbers.
