Via Credit Union Data Breach:
Lawsuit Investigation
Attorneys working with ClassAction.org are looking into whether a class action lawsuit can be filed in light of the Via Credit Union data breach.
As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who received a notice stating they were impacted.
Via Credit Union (ViaCU) recently identified suspicious activity within its computer network, leading to an investigation that confirmed a data breach by an unauthorized third party. The Via Credit Union data breach occurred between January 18 and January 20, 2025. During this time, the intruder accessed and acquired certain files containing the personal information of 60,853 individuals, according to a filing with the Maine Attorney General’s office.
The compromised data includes names, addresses, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, Visa credit card numbers and financial account numbers.
If your information was exposed in the breach, attorneys want to hear from you. You may be able to start a class action lawsuit to recover compensation for loss of privacy, time spent dealing with the breach, out-of-pocket costs, and more.
A successful case could also force Via Credit Union to ensure it takes proper steps to protect the information it was entrusted with.
