Reports Emerge of Possible Vandalia Rental Security Breach
Vandalia Rental, a construction equipment rental company serving customers in Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky, may have suffered a data breach.
A July 10, 2026 post on cybersecurity platform HookPhish indicates that threat actor Akira has taken responsibility for the suspected cyberattack, which occurred on the same day the HookPhish post was published. According to HoohPhish’s findings, Akira claims to have stolen 40 GB of corporate data, including employee and client Social Security numbers, names, dates of birth, and more.
At the time this post was made, reports of a possible Vandalia Rental data breach remained unconfirmed by the company.
