SGS & Co. Security Incident: What Happened?
Southern Graphics Inc., which does business as SGS & Co., reportedly discovered in December 2024 that certain IT systems had been accessed without authorization on November 18 of that year. Following the incident, the global marketing services and brand consulting company launched an investigation to review the exposed information and identify the individuals whose data may have been impacted. The investigation concluded in late July 2025, and the company is notifying those whose personal information was compromised as a result of the SGS & Co. data breach.
Affected data varies by individual and may include names, dates of birth, and contact details such as phone numbers, email addresses, and mailing addresses. Government-issued ID information was also involved, including Social Security numbers, passport numbers, driver’s license numbers, taxpayer identification numbers and, in some cases, copies of identification documents. In addition, information possibly connected to employment or services for the company may have been exposed, including medical and/or health insurance information, financial account numbers, demographic data, and other employment-related details. Not all data types applied to every impacted individual.
According to a report provided to the Maine Attorney General’s Office, the incident affected 31,480 people.
