Forrestall CPAs Security Incident: What Happened?

Forrestall CPAs, a full-service certified public accounting firm located in the Atlanta metro area, has reported a December 2025 data breach involving sensitive information.

A notice posted to its website states that Forrestall recently concluded an investigation with a cybersecurity firm and determined that an unauthorized individual viewed and obtained certain files within its network. Specifically, the affected files contained some personal information, including names, Social Security numbers, driver's license numbers, state identification card numbers and financial account information.

Forrestall began notifying affected individuals on August 7, 2026. A sample notification letter, which can be seen below, states that the unauthorized access occurred between December 22 and December 30, 2025.

An August 21 report filed with the Texas Attorney General's Office notes that the Forrestall CPAs data breach also impacted health insurance information, addresses and dates of birth.
