According to an August 28, 2026 post on dark web monitoring site Ransomware.live, hacker group Lockbit 5 was behind the suspected attack, which was estimated to have occurred the day prior.
HookPhish, another cybersecurity blog, similarly reported that Lockbit 5 claimed to be responsible for an attack on the company behind TNMed.org.
At the time this post was made, no additional information was available about the scope or nature of the unconfirmed Tennessee Medical Association data breach.
