Ohio Living Security Incident: What Happened?
Ohio Living has confirmed a data breach that may have affected the information of current and former residents, patients, employees, and other affiliated individuals.
According to a notice posted on Ohio Living’s website, the health care company first discovered unusual system activity on April 17, 2026. An investigation into the incident determined that an unauthorized actor accessed systems and copied files from Ohio Living’s network from April 16 to April 17 of the same year.
A review of the files involved in the Ohio Living data breach is ongoing, but the types of information that may have been compromised include personal information like names, addresses, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, taxpayer identification numbers, financial account information, and payment card information. Protected health information, including medical history, disability, diagnostic, prescription, and treatment information; medical record numbers; health insurance information; subscriber numbers; and health insurance group/plan numbers may also have been exposed.
Ohio Living, which operates 11 residential communities and offers a range of other healthcare services throughout 42 Ohio counties, plans to notify impacted individuals directly as its investigation progresses.
