Mental Health Association Security Incident: What Happened?
Mental Health Association Inc., a Massachusetts nonprofit organization, recently experienced a data security incident potentially affecting personal information. On December 2, 2024, Mental Health Association discovered a potential system compromise by an unauthorized actor. In response, the organization collaborated with its managed service provider and engaged a specialized cybersecurity firm to investigate the breach.
By May 20, 2025, Mental Health Association Inc. finalized a list of affected individuals to whom data breach notices would be sent.
The information exposed in the Mental Health Association data breach may include names, addresses, Social Security numbers, financial account details, birthdates, driver's license numbers, diagnosis/condition information, medication details, medical record numbers and other medical information.
Mental Health Association offers residential programs and supportive services for individuals affected by mental illness, developmental disabilities, brain injuries, substance use, and homelessness.
