iHeartMedia Data Breach: Lawsuit Investigation
Attorneys working with ClassAction.org are looking into whether a class action lawsuit can be filed in light of the iHeartMedia data breach.
As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who received a notice stating they were impacted.
iHeartMedia Security Incident: What Happened?
iHeartMedia + Entertainment Inc., a major audio company that owns more than 870 radio stations and operates the iHeartRadio streaming platform, confirmed it experienced a cybersecurity incident in late December 2024.
According to the company, an unauthorized individual gained access to digital files on computer systems at a limited number of iHeartMedia’s local stations between December 24 and December 27, 2024. Upon discovering the iHeartMedia data breach, the company secured affected systems, notified the appropriate law enforcement agencies and launched an investigation.
After conducting a review of impacted data, iHeartMedia confirmed on April 11, 2025, that the sensitive personal information of certain individuals was compromised. Potentially exposed data includes names, birth dates, Social Security numbers, tax identification numbers, passport or other governmental identification numbers, driver’s license numbers, state identification card numbers, financial account information, payment card details, medical information and health insurance information.
What You Can Do
If your information was exposed in the data breach, attorneys want to hear from you. You may be able to start a class action lawsuit to recover compensation for loss of privacy, time spent dealing with the breach, out-of-pocket costs, and more.
A successful case could also force iHeartMedia to ensure it takes proper steps to protect the information it was entrusted with.
