Harbin Clinic Data Breach: Lawsuit Investigation
Attorneys working with ClassAction.org are looking into whether a class action lawsuit can be filed in light of the data breach affecting Harbin Clinic.
As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who received a notice stating they were impacted.
Harbin Clinic Security Incident: What Happened?
Harbin Clinic, LLC has announced a security incident involving patient data after its vendor, Nationwide Recovery Services, Inc. (NRS), reported a breach. The incident potentially exposed the personal information of 210,140 individuals. Harbin Clinic, a healthcare provider with 19 locations in Northwest Georgia, had employed NRS for debt collection and related services.
According to a data breach notice on Harbin Clinic's website, NRS discovered suspicious activity in July 2024 that led to a network outage. The Nationwide Recovery Services data breach involved unauthorized access to the vendor's IT systems from July 5 to July 11, 2024, during which time files and folders were copied. Although NRS alerted Harbin Clinic of the data breach in February 2025, the clinic did not receive a list of affected individuals until March.
The information potentially compromised in the data breach affecting Harbin Clinic includes patient names, addresses, Social Security numbers, dates of birth, financial account details, guarantor information, and medical-related details. According to Harbin Clinic, patients or guarantors whose billing accounts were sent to collections or involved in legal proceedings may be impacted by the breach.
Harbin Clinic stated that its own systems were not affected by the Nationwide Recovery Services data breach and indicated that letters have been sent to affected individuals for whom contact information was available.
What You Can Do
If your information was exposed in the data breach, attorneys want to hear from you. You may be able to start a class action lawsuit to recover compensation for loss of privacy, time spent dealing with the breach, out-of-pocket costs, and more.
