On June 13, 2023, Florida Community Health Centers discovered that its computer network had been affected by a ransomware incident, potentially leading to the unintentional exposure of current and former patients' health information. Following this discovery, Florida Community Health Centers, along with third-party vendors, worked to secure the network, understand the cause of the incident, and determine if patient information had been accessed without authorization.
The multiple reviews and investigations, which determined patients' information may have been exposed, identified those affected, and revealed the information put at risk, were completed by April 11, 2024. Florida Community Health Centers is now notifying potentially impacted patients by mail.
