EMSI Data Breach:
Lawsuit Investigation
Attorneys working with ClassAction.org are looking into whether a class action lawsuit can be filed in light of the EMSI data breach.
As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who received a notice stating they were impacted.
Electrostim Medical Services, Inc. (EMSI), a company that specializes in home electrical stimulation devices, garments, and bracing, has announced a data breach affecting hundreds of thousands of individuals. Unusual activity was detected in specific systems in mid-May, and an investigation found that an unknown actor had accessed parts of the network between April 27 and May 13, 2023.
Information exposed in the data incident includes names, addresses, emails, phone numbers, diagnoses, insurance information with subscriber numbers, and details of prescribed and billed products. EMSI has reported to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services that 542,990 individuals were affected by this breach.
If your information was exposed in the breach, attorneys want to hear from you. You may be able to start a class action lawsuit to recover compensation for loss of privacy, time spent dealing with the breach, out-of-pocket costs, and more.
A successful case could also force EMSI to ensure it takes proper steps to protect the information it was entrusted with.
