AssuranceAmerica Data Breach: Lawsuit Investigation
Attorneys working with ClassAction.org are looking into whether a class action lawsuit can be filed in light of the AssuranceAmerica data breach.
As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who had their information exposed in the incident, including those who received notice of the AssuranceAmerica data breach or otherwise believe they are affected.
AssuranceAmerica Security Incident: What Happened?
Insurance provider AssuranceAmerica Managing General Agency has reported a data breach resulting from a targeted cyberattack on an AssuranceAmerica employee.
A sample notification letter (pictured below) states that on March 17, 2026, AssuranceAmerica first detected unusual activity on its information technology (IT) systems, which it believes resulted from an attack on an employee the day prior, March 16. An investigation found that during the AssuranceAmerica data breach, an unauthorized party accessed and copied files from the company’s IT systems.
A review of the affected files found that personal information, including names, contact information, Social Security numbers, tax ID information, and driver’s license numbers, may have been exposed. Information related to automobile insurance policies or accounts, drivers or vehicles, and claims may also have been compromised.
What You Can Do After the AssuranceAmerica Data Breach
If your information was exposed in the AssuranceAmerica data breach, attorneys want to hear from you. You may be able to start a class action lawsuit to recover compensation for loss of privacy, time spent dealing with the breach, out-of-pocket costs, and more.
