Issue #386

Is Your Smart TV Illegally Sharing Your Data?

In this issue, we’ll take a look at the potential for mass arbitration over concerns about hidden fees and possible privacy violations.

First up, if you own a smart TV, what you watch may not be as private as you think, as attorneys suspect user information could be gathered without consent and used for marketing purposes. More on the brands under investigation below.

Then, we’ll look at fees on food delivery orders, cash advances that might not be as “interest free” as they claim and a popular “social” casino platform. Keep reading for the details on these investigations, as well as the latest class action settlements you may be able to claim.

Attorneys Investigate Smart TV Data Privacy

If you own a smart TV made by LG, TCL, VIZIO or Sony, your privacy rights may have been violated. Attorneys believe the TVs may be embedded with automatic content recognition software that records and analyzes all video and audio played through the TV set and connected equipment, including streaming devices and video game consoles. Smart TV customers are now taking action. Learn more and sign up here.

Hidden Fees on Your Food Delivery Order?

How many times have you been charged a last-minute fee on your food delivery order? Attorneys are investigating whether Chipotle, Chick-fil-A and Grubhub are misleading customers who order online by waiting to disclose delivery, service and other fees until late in the checkout process—a point at which hungry customers are less likely to abandon their orders. If you were charged fees on a delivery order from any of these companies, join others taking action over on this page.

McDonald’s: Surprised with Fees on Delivery Orders?

Attorneys believe that McDonald’s may intentionally hide the delivery, service and small order fees it tacks onto delivery orders until late in the transaction, potentially violating various states’ consumer protection laws and misleading consumers as to the true cost of their food. If you ordered delivery through the McDonald’s app or website in the past three years and paid fees, learn more and join others taking action over on this page.

Lost Money on RealPrize? Join the Mass Arbitration

While RealPrize is advertised as a “play-for-fun” social casino, attorneys suspect the platform could be an illegal gambling scheme engineered to get players hooked and spending real money. They’re now gathering players to take legal action—and these players may be able to get some of their money back. If you lost money on RealPrize in the last few years, learn more and sign up for the mass arbitration here.

Beem Cash Advances: Charged Hidden Interest?

Attorneys working with ClassAction.org believe that Beem’s monthly subscription cost and instant delivery fee on its Everdraft cash advances may effectively function as interest—despite the product being advertised as interest free—and could violate financial and consumer protection laws. If you received at least one Everdraft cash advance from Beem since March 1, 2025, learn more and join others taking action here.
