Palacios Marine & Industrial Coatings, a mechanical contractor with offices in Texas, Louisiana, and Alabama, has announced a data breach exposing personal information. Though the total number of people impacted by the Palacios Marine & Industrial data breach is not yet known, a report made to the Texas Attorney General's Office indicates that 12,227 Texans were affected.
A notice posted to the company’s website states that the breach was detected on September 30, 2025, prompting Palacios Marine & Industrial to secure its network and investigate the situation. The investigation revealed that unauthorized access to computer systems and the potential acquisition of files containing sensitive data occurred on September 30, when the breach was first detected.
The information in the compromised files included names, Social Security numbers, driver's licenses or state IDs, financial account details, health insurance information, usernames, passwords, and passport numbers.
Palacios Marine & Industrial is notifying individuals whose information may have been involved in the incident by mail and email.
