Palacios Marine & Industrial Coatings (PMI), a mechanical contractor headquartered in Texas, has announced a data breach exposing personal information. Though the total number of people impacted by the Palacios Marine & Industrial data breach is not yet known, a report made to the Texas Attorney General's Office indicates that 12,227 Texans were affected.
A notice posted to the company’s website states that the breach was detected on September 30, 2025, prompting Palacios Marine & Industrial to secure its network and investigate the situation. The investigation revealed that unauthorized access to computer systems and the potential acquisition of files containing sensitive data occurred on September 30, when the breach was first detected.
The information in the compromised files included names, Social Security numbers, driver's license or state ID numbers, financial account details, health insurance information, usernames, passwords, and passport numbers.
The company is notifying individuals whose information may have been involved in the PMI data breach by mail and email.
