This week’s issue is taking a look at an ongoing problem reported by some LG fridge customers, as well as several California-specific privacy investigations.

Then, new lawsuits have been filed over an allegedly debilitating update for certain Samsung Galaxy devices and dietary supplements that were recalled due to potential salmonella contamination, respectively.

Keep reading for the details on these cases, as well as the latest class action settlements you may be able to claim.

LG Fridge Customers: Take Action Over Compressor Issues

Allegations have surfaced that LG has knowingly sold refrigerators with defective compressors that fail prematurely, causing the fridges to stop cooling. While LG has settled at least two class actions over the compressors, attorneys working with ClassAction.org believe the company may not have actually fixed the issue and are now gathering consumers to take action. If you bought a new or used LG fridge after 2018 (or a home containing one), learn more here.

Data Privacy Investigations for California Residents

If you created an account or made an online purchase with Musely, Dermstore, Levi’s, Home Chef or Paula’s Choice, you can learn more about these investigations and how to join others taking action on this page.

Affected by Discontinued Support for Wemo Products?

You may have heard how Belkin ended support for many of its Wemo products (including light switches, smart plugs, motion sensors and heaters) on January 31. This means that the affected devices are no longer controllable through the Wemo app and that features requiring cloud connectivity will no longer function. Samsung is facing a new lawsuit claiming that an Oct. 2024 software update for Galaxy S22 users rendered many of the mobile devices inoperable—and that the company has failed to offer any meaningful relief. According to the case, the One UI 6.1.1 update has had a “devastating impact” on Galaxy S22, S22+ and S22 Ultra devices, with many left trapped in an endless reboot loop characterized by repeated crashing, data loss and failure.
