Neurological Associates of Washington Security Incident: What Happened?
Neurological Associates of Washington, a Seattle-area medical group, has announced a December 2025 data breach that may have impacted the personal and medical information of patients from 2019 to 2025.
The practice reported that a server used to store medical records from these years was accessed and encrypted in a ransomware incident linked to a cybercriminal group known as DragonForce.
A subsequent investigation determined that the Neurological Associates of Washington data breach occurred around December 28, 2025, with the stolen information later being published on the dark web.
The Neuro Associates data breach potentially involved names, addresses, Social Security numbers, dates of birth, diagnoses, disability codes and other medical information.
A notice posted on the medical group’s website states that the impacted data was tied to the period before it switched to a cloud-based records system and adds that new patients as of 2025 are unlikely to have been affected.
