NJCRIB Data Breach: Lawsuit Investigation
Attorneys working with ClassAction.org are looking into whether a class action lawsuit can be filed in light of the NJCRIB data breach.
As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who had their information exposed in the incident, including those who received notice of the NJCRIB data breach or otherwise believe they are affected.
NJCRIB Security Incident: What Happened?
The New Jersey Compensation Rating and Inspection Bureau (NJCRIB), which manages workers' compensation insurance in New Jersey, recently reported a data breach. After discovering suspicious activity on its network around August 5, 2025, the organization took action to secure its systems and launched an investigation to understand the extent of the breach. It was found that unauthorized access occurred from July 8 to August 5, 2025, with some files potentially copied without permission.
NJCRIB conducted a review and identified that files containing names and Social Security numbers might have been compromised. By February 4, 2026, written notifications were sent to those impacted by the New Jersey Compensation Rating and Inspection Bureau data breach.
What You Can Do After the NJCRIB Data Breach
If your information was exposed in the NJCRIB data breach, attorneys want to hear from you. You may be able to start a class action lawsuit to recover compensation for loss of privacy, time spent dealing with the breach, out-of-pocket costs, and more.
A successful case could also force NJCRIB to ensure they take proper steps to protect the information they were entrusted with.
