Up to $6,510,240 NRS Pay TCPA Settlement Ends Class Action Lawsuit Over Prerecorded Telemarketing Calls

National Retail Solutions has agreed to pay up to $6,510,240 to settle a class action lawsuit contending that the retail operations technology company, while operating as NRS Pay, made prerecorded telemarketing phone calls, using a third-party “ringless voicemail” service, to the cell phones of consumers who had not given their prior authorization to do so in violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA).

The National Retail Solutions class action settlement received preliminary approval from the court on January 14, 2026 and covers all individuals in the United States who received a ringless voicemail using VoiceLogic’s services sent by NRS Pay to their cell phone, or sent by VoiceLogic at the request of NRS Pay, any time between January 8, 2020 and the date of final approval.

According to the website, NRS Pay settlement class members who file a valid, timely claim form are eligible to receive a one-time cash payment of up to $135. The agreement states that each class member’s payment may be subject to a pro rata (equal share) reduction should the total number of claims filed exceed the amount remaining in the net settlement fund after the payment of attorneys’ fees, lead plaintiff service awards and administrative costs.

Settlement class members may elect to receive their payout by check or electronic payment, the agreement notes, and all checks must be cashed within 90 days of issuance before they expire.

To file an NRS Pay settlement claim form online, class members can head to this page and enter the unique ID and PIN as listed on their received copy of the settlement notice. Alternatively, class members can download a PDF of the claim form from the settlement site to print, fill out and return by mail to the address of the settlement administrator.

All NRS Pay claim forms must be submitted online or by mail by April 14, 2026.

The court will determine whether to grant the National Retail Solutions settlement final approval following a hearing on June 30, 2026. Compensation will begin to be distributed to class members only after final approval has been granted and any appeals have been resolved.

The National Retail Solutions class action lawsuit alleged that the company, which provides  point-of-sale systems to independent merchants and operates as NRS Pay, unlawfully issued prerecorded telemarketing calls using a “ringless voicemail” service provided by VoiceLogic, a third-party marketing firm, to individuals who did not provide their express consent in violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act.
