Safe Fleet Data Breach Settlement Wraps Up Lawsuit Over April 2024 Data Incident

Safe Fleet Holdings, LLC and Clarience Technologies, LLC have agreed to a class action settlement to resolve a lawsuit that alleged the companies failed to protect sensitive information from an April 2024 data breach.

The Safe Fleet Holdings class action settlement received preliminary approval from the court on July 29, 2026. Eligible for the settlement are all United States residents whose private information may have been impacted in the data incident that affected Safe Fleet and Clarience on or around April 13, 2024, including all who received notice of the data breach.

Court documents state that 7,478 people have received notice of the settlement.

Safe Fleet settlement class members who submit a timely, valid claim form can receive up to $2,500 for documented out-of-pocket losses incurred between April 13, 2024 and December 2, 2026 due to the data breach. This benefit covers losses from identity theft or fraud and costs for credit reports, credit monitoring, freezing/unfreezing credit, professional fees, replacement IDs, postage, and more.

Class members must include proof, such as bank statements or receipts, to receive a documented-loss payment.

In lieu of a documented-loss payment, class members can file a claim form to receive a $50 cash payment, with no proof required.

Lastly, class members can elect on their claim form to receive two years of CyEx Financial Shield Complete, which includes one-bureau credit monitoring and financial fraud insurance, among other features.

To submit a Safe Fleet settlement claim form online, class members can head to this page and enter the login ID and PIN found on their copy of the settlement notice. Alternatively, class members can download a PDF claim form to print, complete, and return by mail to the settlement administrator.

All Safe Fleet settlement claim forms must be submitted online or postmarked no later than December 2, 2026.

The court will determine whether to grant final approval to the Safe Fleet settlement following a hearing on November 2, 2026. Settlement payments will begin to be distributed to class members only after final approval has been granted and any appeals have been resolved.

The Safe Fleet Holdings class action lawsuit alleged that the vehicle and fleet safety management company failed to implement reasonable cybersecurity safeguards to protect personal information from a data breach that occurred on or around April 13, 2024.

Court documents state that confidential information that may have been compromised in the data incident included names, addresses, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, state identification numbers, financial account information, payment card information, and medical information.
