$750K Southern Graphics Settlement Wraps Up Lawsuit Over 2024 Data Breach

Southern Graphics, Inc., also known as SGS & Co. or Southern Graphic Systems, has agreed to a $750,000 settlement to end a lawsuit that alleged the packaging and marketing production company failed to protect confidential information from a December 2024 targeted cyberattack.

The Southern Graphics class action settlement received preliminary approval from the court on August 17, 2026. Eligible for the settlement are all living individuals in the United States whose private information was potentially compromised in the data breach, including all who were mailed notice of the incident by Southern Graphics.

Court documents state that the private information of approximately 39,642 current and former employees and their family members may have been impacted in the Southern Graphic Systems data breach.

Southern Graphics settlement class members who submit a timely, valid claim form can receive up to $3,500 for documented out-of-pocket losses incurred between December 2, 2024 and November 3, 2026 due to the data breach. This benefit covers losses from identity theft or fraud and costs for credit reports, credit monitoring, freezing/unfreezing credit, replacement IDs, postage, and more.

Class members must submit proof, such as receipts, to receive a documented-loss payment.

In lieu of a documented-loss payment, class members can file a claim form to receive a pro rata cash payment, with no proof required.

The final amount of each class member’s payment will be determined based on the total number of valid claims filed, among other factors.

Finally, all class members can elect on their claim form to receive two years of CyEx Financial Shield Complete, which includes one-bureau credit monitoring and financial fraud insurance.

To submit a Southern Graphics settlement claim form online, class members can head to this page and enter the login ID and PIN found on their copy of the settlement notice. Alternatively, class members can download a PDF claim form to print, complete and return by mail to the settlement administrator.

All Southern Graphics settlement claim forms must be submitted online or postmarked by November 3, 2026.

The court will decide whether to grant final approval to the Southern Graphics data breach settlement following a hearing on November 18, 2026. Settlement benefits will begin to be distributed to class members only after final approval has been granted and any appeals have been resolved.

The Southern Graphics class action lawsuit alleged that the Kentucky-based brand consulting agency, doing business as SGS & Co., failed to implement reasonable cybersecurity measures to protect the private information of current and former employees and their family members from a December 2024 data breach.

Court documents state that the confidential information potentially compromised during the cyberattack included names, contact information, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, passport numbers, driver’s license numbers, taxpayer IDs, medical and/or health insurance information, financial account numbers, demographic information, employment-related details, and login credentials.
