According to the order signed by Circuit Judge Timothy J. Boyer, Monsanto will pay $7.25 billion in payments over the course of up to 21 years to all United States residents who have been exposed to any Roundup products in the U.S. after applying the products themselves, paying for the products’ application, participating or directing in their application, or otherwise had reason to believe they were exposed prior to February 17, 2026.
Notably, the deal also covers two subclasses of consumers, consisting of all Monsanto settlement class members who have been diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) as of March 4, 2025 and their derivative claimants, such as spouses and family members (“Subclass 1”), and all class members who have not been diagnosed with NHL as of March 4, 2025 and their derivative claimants (“Subclass 2”).
The official Roundup settlement website can be found at WeedKillerClass.com. Individuals who believe they are covered by the Roundup settlement are encouraged to sign up for settlement updates here.
Roundup class members will be categorized as either occupational or residential claimants, the order notes. Occupational claimants include individuals who worked more than 80 hours in an agricultural or industrial position (farmers, landscapers, gardeners, maintenance workers), and residential claimants, including individuals exposed to Roundup in a residential capacity.
Under the terms of the class action settlement, class members will need to file a valid, timely claim form in order to receive settlement benefits, regardless of whether they have been diagnosed with NHL.
The order goes on to state that the settlement distribution plan over the course of 17 to 21 years is designed to cover future diagnoses and claims, as scientific research shows that NHL can take 10 to 15 years to develop after exposure, meaning that class members who may be diagnosed years after exposure to Roundup throughout the course of settlement payments may receive benefits.
The settlement agreement anticipates that class members who file a claim form, depending on their degree of exposure and other factors, can expect to receive anywhere between $6,000 and $165,000 in total compensation from the Roundup settlement. The deal may also provide some additional or expedited payments to class members facing extraordinary circumstances and medical conditions, who used Roundup extensively at their home or who face urgent financial situations.
Furthermore, the order states that class members will have the opportunity to ask to be excluded from or object to the deal at their election.
The court will determine whether to grant final approval to the Roundup settlement following a hearing scheduled for July 9, 2026. Compensation will begin to be distributed to class members only after final approval has been granted and any appeals are resolved.

The proposed nationwide Roundup settlement, filed on February 17, 2026, awaits preliminary approval from the court. The massive deal, filed in St. Louis, Missouri circuit court, would cover individuals who were exposed to Roundup before February 17, 2026 and either received a medical diagnosis of non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) or, in the future, receive a medical diagnosis of NHL before the end of a 16-year period following final approval.
According to a statement released by Bayer AG, the proposed $7.25 billion Roundup settlement would provide ongoing cash payments through a long-term claims program, funded over 21 years through declining annual payments from Monsanto.
ClassAction.org will update this page once the proposed Roundup settlement receives preliminary approval.
Bayer AG’s statement notes that the proposed class action settlement is intended to avoid the need to continue litigating current and future Roundup personal injury lawsuits.
Roundup has been the subject of years of mass tort litigation over allegations that glyphosate, the primary ingredient in the common garden herbicide, causes non-Hodgkin lymphoma, a type of cancer that develops in the body’s lymphatic system. The proposed Roundup class action settlement would replace a previous short-term class settlement filed by Monsanto in 2020.
