The Numotion class action settlement received preliminary approval from the court on December 3, 2025 and covers all United States residents who received notice from Numotion of either data incident.
Per court documents, approximately 685,264 individuals, including current and former customers and employees, may have been affected by the data breach that occurred between February and March 2024, and roughly 494,326 people may have been affected by the data breach that occurred in September of that year.
The court-approved website for the Numotion data breach settlement can be found at https://www.NumotionSettlement.com/.
According to the website, Numotion settlement class members have multiple options for reimbursement. First, all Numotion class members will automatically receive an activation code for two free years of CyEx Identity Defense Plus without the need to file a claim form. CyEx Identity Defense Plus provides services such as credit monitoring, credit score reports, dark web scanning, and identity theft insurance.
The site relays that Numotion settlement class members who submit a valid, timely claim form are eligible to receive one of the following cash payments. Those who submit documented proof of out-of-pocket expenses with their claim form are eligible to receive a one-time cash payment of up to $15,000, also referred to as “Cash Payment A” on all court documents. The settlement agreement explains that documented losses must have been incurred as a result of either Numotion data breach, and reimbursable expenses include those related to fraud, identity theft, professional fees, costs of credit repair services, credit monitoring, and freezing credit.
In lieu of a documented-loss payment, Numotion class members may instead file a claim form to receive a one-time, pro-rated cash payout, referred to as “Cash Payment B” on all court documents. The final amount each class member may receive under this payment option will be determined by the total number of valid claims filed and how much remains in the net settlement fund after the payment of attorneys’ fees, lead plaintiff service awards, settlement administration expenses, and the cost of all other primary benefits, the agreement stipulates.
Finally, Numotion class members who have been notified that their Social Security number may have been compromised as a result of either data breach may file a claim to receive, in addition to a cash payout, an activation code for two free years of CyEx Medical Shield Pro, which includes services such as healthcare insurance ID monitoring, medical record monitoring, provider monitoring, dark web scanning, and medical identity theft insurance.
Numotion settlement class members may elect to receive their cash payout via check or electronic payment, according to the settlement agreement, and all checks must be cashed within 90 days after issuance before expiration.
Moreover, the agreement adds that activation codes for the CyEx Identity Defense Plus and CyEx Medical Shield Pro products will be issued via email.
To submit a Numotion settlement claim form online, class members can head to this page and enter the class member ID provided on their copy of the settlement notice. Consumers who believe they may be a Numotion settlement class member but did not receive a notice may contact the settlement administrator to confirm their identity and receive their login ID.
Alternatively, class members can download a PDF of the claim form from the settlement website to print, fill out and return by mail to the address of the settlement administrator listed on the first page of the document.
All Numotion data breach claim forms must be submitted online or by mail by March 18, 2026.
The court will determine whether to grant final approval to the Numotion class action settlement at a hearing on April 2, 2026. Compensation will begin to be distributed to class members only after final approval is granted and any appeals are resolved.
The Numotion class action lawsuits claimed that the accessible mobility equipment provider failed to implement proper cybersecurity measures to protect the sensitive medical and personal data of its customers and employees, which led to two unrelated cyberattacks between approximately February 29, 2024 and March 2, 2024 (Numotion I) and approximately September 2, 2024 and November 18, 2024 (Numotion II).
Though filed separately, the complaints were eventually consolidated into a single case on May 20, 2025 due to the related accusations, and settlement considerations began to be negotiated jointly.
