The First Chatham Bank class action settlement received preliminary approval from the court on February 9, 2026 and covers all living United States residents who were sent notice from the bank that their private information was impacted during the September 2024 data breach.
Court documents estimate that approximately 17,561 individuals are covered by the settlement.
The court-approved website for the First Chatham Bank (FCB) data breach settlement can be found at FCBDataSettlement.com.
According to the website, FCB settlement class members who file a valid, timely claim form are eligible to receive a one-time, pro-rated cash payment, with no proof required. The agreement states that while this payment is estimated to be approximately $100, class members’ final payouts will ultimately depend on the number of valid claims filed and the amount remaining in the net settlement fund after the payment of attorneys’ fees, settlement administration costs and lead plaintiff service awards.
Class members may receive their settlement payout via check or electronic payment, and the agreement notes that all checks must be cashed within 180 days of issuance before expiration.
To file an FCB data breach claim form online, class members can head to this page and log in using the unique ID and PIN found on their copy of the settlement notice. Alternatively, class members may download a PDF of the claim form from the website to print, fill out and return by mail to the address of the settlement administrator listed on the first page of the document.
All FCB settlement claim forms must be submitted online or by mail by June 3, 2026.
The court will determine whether to grant final approval to the FCB data breach settlement following a hearing on June 18, 2026. Compensation will begin to be distributed to class members only after final approval is granted and any appeals are resolved.
The First Chatham Bank class action lawsuit alleged that the Georgia-based financial institution failed to implement reasonable cybersecurity measures to protect the confidential information of its current and former customers and employees stored on its systems, which led to a targeted cyberattack on or around September 25, 2024. Per court documents, private information that may have been compromised in the data breach includes names, addresses, dates of birth, driver’s license numbers, Social Security numbers, financial account numbers and payment card information.
