Film Forum claim forms must be submitted online by December 10, 2025.
Film Forum, as part of the class action settlement, has also agreed to modify the purchase flow for tickets on its website to clearly and conspicuously display the handling fee at issue in the class action lawsuit, court documents state.
The court will determine whether to grant final approval to the Film Forum settlement at a hearing on December 16, 2025. Compensation will begin to be distributed to class members only after final approval is granted and any appeals are resolved.
The Film Forum class action lawsuit claimed that the movie theater did not timely disclose the handling fee during the online ticket checkout process, which is illegal under the New York Arts and Cultural Affairs Law.
